What makes Recaro special?
Recaro stands out from other leading toddler’s car seat brands, such as Britax, for a couple of reasons.
Recaro gets that parents always want to get a seat that performs well (easy installation, adjustable safety features, etc) and protects well (quality side impact protection, airbag compatibility, etc.)
So what kind of seats does Recaro make?
Recaro’s been in the car seat game for quite a while, so pretty much any type of kid’s car seat that you can think of, Recaro will have a model available.
Recaro Convertible Car Seats are money-saving car seats that are suitable for infants, toddlers and children. Convertible car seats can be adjusted to suit your child in different positions as they grow older, preventing the need to buy a new car seat any time your kid has a growth spurt. Car seats typically change between at least two of the following:
1-4 year olds
3-8 year olds
6-12 year olds
Recaro Booster Seats are single use seats good for kids between six and twelve. Booster seats, when bought alone, are cheaper than the others because they’re not an actual seat. Booster seats are just small units that boost the child a bit off the car seat so they can use a regular seatbelt.
Recaro also makes Infant seats (rear-facing) and toddler (front-facing) seats. Some of these may be combination seats (not to be confused with convertible) which make use of a combination of features from booster seats and one of these two types of seat to create a more convenient experience.
Recaro also makes a guarantee that their products are made with consideration to the environment. Their products are all developed with sustainability in mind to minimize the impact they have on the ecology.

Recaro’s safety features
Recaro does things a little bit different than other car seat manufacturers when it comes to safety. Heck – the full name of Recaro’s children’s products is known as Recaro Child Safety.
Most of their kid’s car seats have something known as wings on either side of the child’s head. These add an extra level of protection in case of an accidental impact.
Recaro broke some records in terms of the amount of weight that can be carried with the five-point harness, which is a standard piece for almost every kid’s car seat.
BONUS TIPS: While Recaro prides itself in being able to develop car seats for children that pass international safety standards, it’s important to note that these guarantees are in place only when buying a new product before its expiry date.
Don’t buy second hand car seats, even from a good friend unless it’s been looked at by a mechanic.
Nobody would mean you harm, but even someone with good intentions might not be able to notice a broken part.
Recaro’s ease of use
Recaro’s car seats are known to have very thorough installations. This may not be the easiest thing to actually do yourself, but the result is a car seat that’s much more stable than most of the other options on the market.
Recaro’s seats also typically last the user longer, since they have such a high weight limit in comparison to other brands. This means that you’ll be able to save money instead of having to regularly replace your baby seats any time your toddler grows a few pounds.
The brand’s also popular and reliable enough to be considered a top contender in the car seat market. This means that Recaro’s seats can be found in most major stores that sell car seats as well as brick & mortar stores and tons of online markets.
On top of all this, Recaro is known as a budget-friendly car seat company. Without sacrificing vigorous safety regimens, Recaro produces a variety of different car seats for kids of all ages. They make use of adjustable parts and sometimes even your car’s original seat to create a safe environment for your child to be transported.
So what are the best Recaro kid’s seats?
Ah – we’ve got you hooked! No worries, Recaro’s products are all backed by a consistent flow of positive customer feedback. We wouldn’t be writing this article if they didn’t!
So, without any more hesitation, here are the five best Recaro products that you can buy right now.
Recaro Car Seat Reviews
1. Recaro Performance RIDE Convertible Car Seat Review
This is a great seat, particularly for parents who are new to the child car seat game. It makes use of the LATCH system for easy installation, which can take a lot of stress off parents. It’s also good for use with infants as little as 5 pounds and converts up to a 65 pound front facing seat.
The seat uses a new HERO safety system which guarantees maximum safety. The seat’s padding is carefully positioned to cushion the child’s shoulders, neck and back.
Recaro also coined another safety feature with this seat – the Safety Stripe System. This always faces outward on the five-point harness – so if you can’t see the stripes, that means your harness is getting into a twist.
Their side impact protection covers all parts of your child’s body, not just the head. It’s adjustable in its rear facing positions and the whole thing has ventilated sides to keep your baby cool.
2.RECARO Performance SPORT Combination Harness to Booster Car Seat Review
If you didn’t buy a convertible seat for your child’s first car seat experience, this is a great choice for infants who are graduating from a rear facing seat. This seat holds up to 65 pounds in its front facing seat position and up to 120 pounds as a booster seat, making it ideal for parents who don’t want to have to buy a second or third seat (though the price certainly reflects this.)
Fortunately, this seat features qualifications that ensure your child will be adhering to federal safety standards all the way until they can use a regular seat.
This product also uses the HERO strap system, the Safety Stripes, and has ample side impact protection.
3.RECARO ProRIDE Convertible Car Seat Review
Recaro’s ProRIDE convertible seat is inspired by race-cars (since Recaro works equally hard on developing snazzy racecars and racecar seats) so it’s got a naturally fancy design. It uses the Safety Stripe system to eliminate any injuries that might occur due to an unnoticed, twisted harness.
The headrests uses Easy Adjust technology to ensure that your child will always be comfortable – just adjust the seat to suit their height and weight before going on your drive.
It holds up to 65 pounds rear-facing and can be adjusted without having to rethread the whole unit. This adds convenience to an area that’s generally quite a struggle to adapt to efficiently.
4.Recaro Start Zero Seven Review
This car seat is a bundle of technology that’s so fancy it’s not available everywhere. That doesn’t make it any less awesome, though. It uses an Isofix base that allows the seat to easily change from front facing to rear facing without needing to be disassembled. This also allows you to install the seat quite simply (there are additional indicators that allow you to check if you’re doing it properly.)
This seat makes use of all the typical Recaro features (which, typical for Recaro, are far and above the industry average.
5. Recaro Young Sport Hero Review
This is a great seat that’s easily installed using the seat belt provided with your car.The backrest, the headrest and the harness can all be adjusted to different levels to suit your baby or toddler’s comfort level depending on their weight and height.
For younger babies, an additional cushion is included that can be nestled behind their head for either comfort or safety.
It uses advanced side impact protection that utilizes extremely soft side padding, lateral energy absorbers and the headrest which is made with padded foam. This minimizes any impact not just to the head but to the neck and shoulders as well.
So which one’s the best?
While it might be a bit of a slide (and a bit difficult to actually buy one, since they have to be imported from Japan) The Recaro Start Zero Seven is an incredibly good chair.
For a few extra bucks you get a convertible seat that uses a swivel system to eliminate the need for lengthy adjustment procedures when converting the seat. This swivel also makes the initial installation a breeze.
This is all in addition to Recaro’s unique line of modern safety features, most of which were patented by the company itself and all of which adhere to both federal and international safety standards.
You really can’t go wrong with this seat, and Recaro has once again proven that they’re at the top of their game. They’re not afraid to innovate, and their ideas always seem to add to the value of their products – many of Recaro’s ideas have since become industry standards.
